Rapallo has been involved in supporting a charity called “Global Hand Charity Inc”. Global Hand Charity helps to improve the lives of underprivileged people in South-East Asia, some of the many projects that the Global Hand Charity is involved with include:
- Conducting ‘eye camps’ over several years in conjunction with local rotary clubs where they visit remote to conduct eye tests and provide glasses in villages without access to eye doctors.
- Provide wash areas and water treatment facilities for schools
- Sponsor primary school children to attend school.
The Global Hand Charity’s principal fund raising efforts (other than individual donors) is via their annual “BullDust N Back” car bash run by the Rotary Club of Mill Point.
Rapallo provided Car 31 – a 1999 Toyota Troopy (ex underground fleet) for this years BullDust N Back event where it’s being utilised as the official “Medics” car & a competitor. Rapallo also donates to the charity to help fund attend an eye camp in January 2025 in Kandy, SriLanka. Australia will be sending 19 personnel from Australia to support this camp including our very own Rapallo director Raelene George.
Rapallo is proud to be supporting this worthy cause. This is Rapallo’s 4th Bash and while our primary aim is to keep everyone safe as the mobile medics the team is also raising much needed funds for the health and wellbeing of people less fortunate than ourselves, especially in the rural areas of Sri Lanka, whilst having great fun in the process.
